Description of the My fabrics are designed according to customer request. Colors, fiber type and weight, and weave structure are combined to produce a pleasing cloth. The fabric is then woven on a Harrisville floor loom. The stole is constructed with a lining and an interlining, and is sewn by hand. The only machine stitching is done at the center back seam. Stoles can be woven in any color you wish although colors are usually selected based on the standard colors that represent different aspects of the Standard Liturgical Calendar:
Pentecost: the fabric above is a recent commision. It incorporates a dark, cool gray weft and hot, vibrant scarlets and orange. This pattern uses a very long complex twill repeat. Pentecost: Stole celebrating Pentecost. Red, orange and yellow colors evoke the Holy Spirit's tongues of flame.
